Photograph

By Yictove

In the photograph

you sent me

I could see your

lovely eyes

I could almost hear

you whisper words

of love to me

You are much too

far away

I am too far from you

No, lovers should never be apart

No, lovers should never drift

In the photograph you sent

I should be next to you

I should be holding you close

whispering love words too

In the photograph you sent

palm trees seem to sway

It's so hard for me to accept

that you moved away

In the photograph you sent me

African sun shines bright

it gives off so much light

it makes me sad tonight

My beautiful sweet lady living in Senegal

I never will forget you.

Tomorrow I will call.
